Reflective Narrative
This course focused on helping students to begin researching and creating survey questions that we would use in our senior capstone project. Students were also introduced on how to fully utilize the university's online library search engines and research archives, as well as various browser applications such as Zotero, a Google Chrome application that is extremely helpful when saving and citing sources in whichever former is required of your project, in order to collect and log our research which would be further used in the WLC 400 course. Throughout the semester, we were guided by the our teacher on how to improve our presentations in terms of adjusting information within our research topic, literature review, and surveys, example 1, and then begin to translate everything into Japanese. Thanks to discussions, collaborations, and short presentations within the class my partner and I were able to decide on what we wanted to research for our senior project, which is the differences of perceptions regarding transgender identities in Japan and the United States and how we would utilize the resources given to us in order to accomplish the best possible outcome in terms of what we wanted to teach our audience using our soon to be completed research project. A first draft of our research presentation is linked below, example 2.
